” On a Hot Steamy Evening “

” I HOPE “

Upon the green fields of high rise condo’s.

With forest thick of protective undergrowth, it leads to a meadow of wild flowers.

The city streets envelope you into a shopping mall of suburban bliss.

The deli, the diner, the dinner table, you drive thru life never knowing what tomorrow will bring.

You hop a train, a plane, a bus into the future.

So many things I would like to say, so many things I could write all day.

But in the end its like each day, it is what it has been.

Tomorrow’s another day.

I HOPE one day my Son will read my posts, and know I think of him every day.

” Nothing is Black and White”

black white 2 rods

Vague values of vacant colorless hues,

nothing is black and white except your reality.

Elusive shades of gray with tints of differant perspectives,

leaves nothing remaining black and white, REALITY,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Aunt Eleanor’s Coffee Table

My great Aunt Eleanor’s coffee table becomes art. As a young artist I would work for my aunt doing odd jobs. I spent several summers working for her painting her house, mowing the yard, resurfacing her driveway and so on.

My aunt was one of those very proper ladies. She was a retired teacher. She also had a great love of art and she did alot of painting herself. I enjoyed my summers with my aunt. Eleanor would talk to me often about art and she would show me her latest piece she was working on. I would periodically bring my art to her home for a critique.

She would pay me for my work on her home and she would randomly give me an unusual item from time to time.
One day after completing my work for the day she took me into one of the bedrooms and ask if I would like a painting that hung on the wall. The painting was large, a landscape of a forest scene with a deer in it. The picture measured 44″x48″. Unfortunately the painting done by her grandfather was not in very good condition. However the turn of the century classic frame was awesome and in excellant condition. Thats 1900’s turn of the century, I took the art happily. I still have the frame to this day hanging in my home some thirty years later.

So on a differant visit she offered me an old coffee table. I took the some what wobbely table even though the legs slightly unstable and the style not really me. But I liked the wood. After several years of the table being in my studio I one day removed the top and made Aunt Eleanor’s Coffee Table into the abstract wood collage you now see. It also hangs in my home. Thanks Aunt Eleanor miss you.

“Judge Not,,,,, Forgiveness”

As in the days of the Romans, we as a modern society continue to persecute in the name of righteous and moral societal conscious. We continue to make errors in judgment all to often when handing out punishments. We continue to label, fear the unknown, the misunderstood or the unique if simply different from the norm.

Have we grown or changed historically? Obviously technologically yes. However we still imprison innocent people. We still cast shadows on the people who spark thought or ignite social change.

In life we all suffer differently. We all experience trials and tribulations. We all endure and experience the challenges of life. There is definitely something to be said for forgiveness. I suppose I am saying in finding forgiveness you can set yourself free of the burdens and demons of life that haunt you or others you may know.

With that said I am not implying that wrongs and injustices are not committed for they do continue to occur historically and continue in our daily lives. We should challenge conventions. We should not simply accept everything without question.

We should not lie down and be silenced by the powers that be even when they may be the government or the legal/ justice system for as history has shown misunderstandings lead to grave injustices.

The following blog tells a story of an artist and his trials. The  exploitation’s he experienced from his government and civic leaders. Sound familiar? Things haven’t changed much since the days of the Roman empire. However forgiveness will set you free.

Forgiveness on a personal level will permit you to move on in your life not being drug down into depths of vengeful and fearful people. Even though  many times the powers that be have their own reasons for unjust self judgment, forgive and set yourself free.

The blog series, I consider a body of work comprised of both writing, free verse poetry and a random selection of wood sculpture, collage/ mixed media works of art and a few photo digitally generated art pieces.  PLEASE SCROLL DOWN,, HIT HOME AND ENJOY,, Thank You for visiting
